Trustee Report

Good morning.  Your Professional organization, ADAA Trustee has been asked to reach out to each member.  In case you did not know, you can find minutes of all Trustee meetings on adaausa.org.

We want to keep you well informed and anytime you have a question, please feel free to contact me.

First of all financials, ADAA is committed to paying back the States rebates.  This is an ongoing project since SFA took over administrative duties.  ADAA trustees have not been having face to face meetings, have been doing go to meetings and they have been quite successful.  If you have been a delegate to Annual Session, you will know what I am speaking to.  This is to save our organization money and get our organization on even financial footing, which we are well on our way to doing.  Accountants request we have one year in reserves (meaning if we did not take in another penny we could continue operating for one year) you can find financials under members only on adaausa.org

Annual Session for 2018 will be in the fall, we are in the process of determining when  If you would like to be a delegate or even just listen in and get familiar with the process, please contact me.  We are looking to get a more active membership in our State.  You do not need to belong to a local, you can start a study club.  New ideas are something we are always looking for.
CODA is looking for site visitors, information can be found on CODA website.

Our organization has been doing Town Hall Meetings.  These seem to be quite popular, you register and attend online or via telephone and it truly gives you a chance to give input into your organization.  When you get a notification, please register and take part, even if it is only for part of the meeting.  This is your organization, your voice.  Your leaders are just the messenger for your thoughts and ideas. Remember, the more members we have in ADAA the more voice we have.  I feel it is our time to bloom.  Our leaders are collaborating with other Dental Assisting organizations, together we can do this.

Our Face Book closed group page is becoming quite popular, it is a place to exchange great ideas, joke around a little and have fun.  We do have rules that you need to abide by, for your protection.  We are also looking to launch a you tube channel for ADAA and will be looking for appropriate videos to upload.  There is a committee setting up guidelines, I will send them to you as soon as they are finished.  In the mean time, I encourage you to tell other Dental Assistants to join our group page, and I challenge you to start a conversation that we can have go viral!

Scholarship winners have been announced, congratulations to all who received one.

Finally, your National, States and Locals are ALWAYS looking for volunteers to step up.  Those of us who have doing it for a long time need to mentor members to assume leadership.  This is a great opportunity.
